For a long time this tree contributed to the survival of entire populations, during centuries, thanks to its wood or its fruit.
Today it is recognised for its ecological virtues (natural new growth without human intervention) as much as for the beauty and the quality of its wood (building material of the future, and rot-proof).
That is why we try hard to protect this wood the best we can, especially by becoming a member of the PECF system, and by making studies in collaboration with the CRPF (Regional Centre of Forest Property) for the durability and the expansion of chestnut in Limousin.
